Just a shameless plug for my 28-135 that I have decided to sell. Check out the ForSale section here. And if mods feel thus post is inappropriate, certainly remove it.

And before anyone asks, for the moment I'll be using my Sony-Zeiss 16-70 f/4 as a general lens plus the trusty old Canon 24-105 L series on a Metabones IV or Kipon speedbooster-equivalent while I ponder whether to go in the more expensive direction of the new family of Cine Zooms (awaiting more details on the Sigma glass) or the Sony 18-110.

EDIT- I meant to title post Shameless Plug

How horrible is using the Sony-Zeiss 16-70 f/4?

I was on the 18-105mm the other day, shooting some home renovation. I needed big wides of small interior spaces and the Sony 18-105mm just wasn't wide enough. I had to frame a group of 5 people in a small bedroom and I couldn't get back far enough. That is the thing that has me hesitant to shell out $3500 on the Sony 18-110mm. It still isn't going to be wide enough for much of the shooting I do. And I gain nothing in speed. I would, however, gain manual iris, better focus action, and better weather sealing. But I'd likely lose the ability to easily carry the lens in a waist pouch for hot-swapping.

Over the weekend I was back on 2/3" and using the Fujinon 4.5 super wide. It's the lens I need in s35. That translates to roughly 13mm in FF. A 12-120mm is the s35 zoom I need. And make it a T2, please. With a focal length doubler that can be engaged with the flip of a lever.

It's not that bad and it's better than all the other Sony lenses I've had. The focus feels more connected and less spongy but it is still an infinite spin.

The image quality is fine and it's a tiny light lens. There's a bit of barrel distortion at 16-18mm but absolutely fine from 20-70.

It's an OK lens that was ridiculously overpriced when new and much better value at secondhand prices.

You can use that lens on the fs7. Just no 4k.
