p.s. I've been trying to avoid this thread cause it just makes me anxious :zombie_smiley:

Great clip. Certainly nailed. This clip shows the real potential output from the SGpro in terms of sharpness and bokeh, even though SD!

I am updating the example footage page of the SGpro website in next month, hope to be hosting alot of your footage!

That's cool wayne! Looking forward to it :)

Scotman: I'm really not sure what the reason behind the nice blacks is, but I bet the sgpro plays a big part. In the clip I used both the pentax 55mm and the pentax 28mm.

nah, probably his CC and master ped setting. the SGpro Raises the black levels if anything....

Smetti, i use an ifocus adapter with nikon lenses, i edit on adobe premiere 2.0, i love your crisp clear look. Was wondering the best way to achieve that. I usually put my detail setting to +7 but do you think i should keep it low around -4 or even -7. What do you use for editing and any advice on getting that crisp look?

How I get crisp pictures? The Sgpro :)
But seriously, I have never tried any other adapter than the sgpro, all I do is that my dvx is very well focused on the adapters GG now, and I keep the detail level at "- 4", black pedestal at " - 6", gamma and matrix at "normal", and rest is pretty much scene file f6. I edit in premiere where I adjust levels(crushing the blacks some more). I also use a pentax f.1.2 55mm which seem to be a very sharp lens, I bought it used for 200 dollars. Crushing the blacks and lifting up the whites gives a sharper image, but I dont wanna go on the "+" side of the detail level because im scared it will give too much of a "digital" look. All in all, I give the sharpness and crisp cred to the sgpro and my pentax lens.
cheers.

that song is from rob crows new solo album.

smettli, which particular bullet look did you use for the smoking vid? was that neo?

also, when you crush the blacks and lift the whites, do you do that in MB or outside of MB?

awesome work. it has convinced me to get the DVX instead of going HD. i think the necessity for HD is too small right now to invest in it, and the dvx is still capable of beautiful images.

Hey, man.
I think I used the "berlin" look, but I did modify the look as well. The crushing blacks is done out of MB, but with the "levels" video effect in premiere.
I definately agree on the dvx still has the power to amaze and I'm not converting to HD anytime soon either.

-cheers.
