SGpro Grabs from my cancelled "Foley" project.

Thanks for the boost guys, it's a nice gesture after the shutdown :)
I wouldnt think twice about getting SGPro, seriously. We were kinda worried about the shallow DOF and all, and one of the camera men had never used a 35mm adapter before, but really, we had no prblem at all when it came to the adapters. We just went with it , because there was little of time and I told the camera men to just shoot and pull focus along with it as we were going for the sort of docu style shooting. I think it really turned out great, as I didnt think the out of focues places threw me off, but rather gave it an artistic style we went for.
All creds to Wayne and his SGPro, both me and Espen(another norwegian sgpro buyer) are very happy campers.
And scotman, of course it cant live up to the HVX mark, I totally agree. And we can be thankfull that the dvx is still such a powerfull tool(after 3 years), since most of the stuff we dvx users do isn't going for the big screen, so it really doesnt matter.
Hehe, I just showed the clip to the actors, and they are now kinda bummed it didn't get finished, cause now they see how good they looked :)

Looks really great, man. I'm curious how heavy the rig was (or did you already mention and I missed it?) In addition to the adaptor, that seems to me the largest reason your project has a film look is the "weightiness" of the image. It doesn't "feel" like a miniDV camera, but it has the weight of a film rig and that definitely shows on screen.

Personally I became frustrated with the flash frames, and I'd love to see a long take, but I dig your image.

Im not trying to be a jerk, and I do love Smettli's shots. GREAT. but it really doesnt make the HVX mark. again, it looks great, but def. not comparible to HVX.

Well like they say, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one. lol (not trying to be rude on that) I do think it looks great and could absolutely get by as an HVX image but once you blow it up I'm 100% sure this footage would not hold up even close to what the HVX would look like.

Hehe, your too kind my friend.
Seeing how people are enjoying the look, the thing that it got shut down kinda sucks even more now :) But new projects to come..
I'm really not sure what the weight is on the rig, but it sure ads some pounds to the dvx itself. And the cameramen where feeling it in their shoulders after a 10 hour shoot, but I wouldn't say that it's difficult to handle. It really convinced me that we wouldn't need a tripod or steadicam for the film since they give pretty stable and heavy shots.

The pig is cute, but he has pissed on the rug like 4 times now. Guess he gets nervous when his owners are on vacation :)

Smettli, Great footage again man - really beautiful. Go make another film. I loved your last one (still laughing at that last shot btw) - and good to see arnold still creating drama.

I got my SGPro - this thing is amazing - really well made and suddenly turns my lil ol hvx into a camera where you can suddenly get a nice shot - ie: a film camera. It's never coming off.

Go make another film. thats an order.

Love the grabs - sorry to hear that the shoot didn't work out.

I second this. I love the grabs. I wish I could have seen a finished version. It makes me think of a french new-wave film, sort of "man and woman arguing in the kitchen" deal... except they aren't arguing in the grabs, but smiling. hah

Hopefully more opportunities to work with this bunch again come your way.

Thanks for the support guys.
I'm definately working with the crew again this summer, which I'm looking forward to.
James, I believe you when your saying it's not coming off, mine has stayed on literarely since the day it arrived. Shooting with the dvx now without the adapter would be like breaking up a relationship with a top10 model and switching her with Rosie O'donnel , yeah...that would really suck.
