SGpro and the A1??

I'm thinking about picking up the SGpro here in a bit, and sometime in the near future, an A1. Will these two get along with eachother? any footage out there?

Or will they argue too much to make it worth the trouble? or am I way off and it's impossible to even get them talking? (I'll admit, I haven't researched at all yet)

p.s. right now I have (1) DVX100a, and (1) Canon XL2, and I like the idea of one adapter working with all my camera's (and future camera's)...

yes they will work. there is no reason they would not. infact, they would make a KILLER combo.

Ah-ha! I was actually waiting for you to respond, Timur. Just didn't want to bother you with PM's...

I knew the title of this thread would intrigue you:beer:

Well, there is a reason that 35mm adapters wouldn't work; at least, the mini35 caused some serious choking on the JVC HD100. Any circumstance that stresses the HDV codec would likely be substantially more stressed if there were a spinning-ground-glass adapter involved. One of these days I'm going to have to put together some scenarios to explore this fully, and narrow down what type of circumstances cause a problem and what type of circumstances are worry-free.

i use the m2 and its a spinning ground glass on my a1 and the quality looks like film when properly lit.no compression issuses and will be posting some stills shortly

Under normal circumstances, that's what I'd expect. Many of our JVC shots looked fine too. But like I said, under circumstances that might otherwise stress the codec, the combo of mini35/HD100 just fell apart. So again, I'll probably have to go through it and identify what the circumstances are, so people know when they'll be "ok" and when they're pushing their luck.

Hi,
The SGpro works with all of these camcorders, the support system is adjustable. Any cam not 72mm will need step rings.

the sg/m2 with fresh batteries, the gg is "invisible"....... so it shouldnt cause any problems.
