SGblade

haha... nooooooo dude... I was not bashing at all man... swear!
I was just trying to be funny man... serious so pls don't take my stuff wrong ok?
I didn't mean for it to sound like I thought the Ultimate doesn't work fight but that that they would have to up the ante even further to justify the price tag... and I don't even know how the Blade beta works even...

The Ultimate would NOT be my favorite $5,000 toy... just thought I'd clarify since you jumped on me like that.

Sorry if I hurt ur feelings or whatever I did though. I didn't mean for it to be interpreted that way.

conveniences......less light loss? man thats the only thing that bugs me about the sgpro. but when light isn't a problem, it's a beauty.

lighter in weight i guess? i do notice with mine is that when i stop down at and past f/16 at a bright sky, im definitely seeing the rotating disc. but its rare to stop down so far anyway so no big deal.

timur, it doesnt sound like you're impressed with the blade much..

I haven't put it on a camera yet . my hvx/sg is rented out. so other than build I have no opinion.

its beautifully made, and dead silent. good things...

Remember that we are talking about two different GGs now.

Now there will be the original GG and a new faster one. The new one was being designed to be a grainless type, so more of a Letus type.

I can't wait to hear back on the new one and see how that one stacks up to the Ultimate... the Original won't be much faster than it is on the SGpro... though it is supposed to be a bit faster from the coating.

Blah blah blah... post already!

It is dead silent. I had to open it up to see if it was in fact on, even if the LCD suggested so. Vibrations are gone as well. :) Had to put my ear very close to tell if the motor was on fast or slow.

Lots of people are waiting on your fndings. brighton is only up the road from me here in the UK so it would be nice to order one and know I would get it " next day" after dispatch.

Just sold my Letus extreme as I couldn't get around that mottling effect when stopping down to 4.5. As this is spinning glass it shouldn't have the same restrictions.

Steve, we are waiting for the okay to release information on the unit. Otherwise we have to keep silent.

But all my serious testing is going to take place during this week, and mostly tomorrow.

Doing my edge to edge sharpness, bokeh rendition, light loss, vignetting, chromatic aberration, battery longevity, while comparing them all to the LEX. So yeah, that's a lot to handle, but I'm going to try my best to have it all done by the end of the week.

Man, all this waiting is crazy! It really shouldn't take all that long to test an adapter thoroughly, should it? ... What's the hold up? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Kidding aside, very much looking forward to all of the feedback and test footage; appreciate all your efforts folks...

The blade is silent, but not dead silent. I can clearly hear the motor when I put my ear close to it. So I would probably hear it if I attached a shotgun mike to the shoemount, which i did on my last documentary shoot when using sgpro, and that created a lot of buzzing noise. (I know, stupid, but we were a soundguy short.)
