SGblade

Sweet... are you starting a little thread so that whenever you feel like posting little comments or big explanations, footage, grabs, etc... they are all in the same spot?

yea I'm testing...

haha knew it!

I'm anxious to see what you'll have for us. Whatever it is I'm sure the review will be detailed and informative like much of Timur's reviews. When you're done, I'd love to see pics (if you're allowed to post them)!

Meanwhile i suppose i'll go entertain myself by playing with my sgpro

Yea i'll make an experience thread.

But it may take a while to get it all setup. I HOPE, i get it by this weekend cause i will use it on a shoot.

Timur, should we make a thread for each camera type, or keep it all in one thread?

Was thinking of making an XH A1 + blade thread and going through all of the tests ( started one in the xh a1 section to see what tests, on top of the ones that will be done, people are interested in seeing.

Okay, I've been reading these threads off and on for about six months now. I've looked at all the 35mm adapters (mainly footage online) and BY FAR the SGPRO seems to produce the most consistently filmic looking images of all the 35mm adapters I've seen to date. I'm not an expert, nor a DP. But when the question is posed as to which one is the best, the SGPRO wins hands down. In my opinion. It seems to be the sharpest (I know lens choice has something to do with that) more filmic and produces the best bokeh of any of the bunch. Every clip I've seen of the SGPRO has had everything I look for filmically. With the Letus Extreme it goes back and forth. I've seen beautiful footage on those who are really good with using it and I've seen awful looking footage with those who clearly don't know what they're doing. But the SGPRO... haven't seen too many bad clips to date. Just my opinion.

what you say is pretty much true about any adapter.

Take a fantastic DP with three lights. He could bow me out of the water with a naked dvx100b than i could with every type of light at my disposal as well as any adapter.

From what i've seen, the letus extreme has always been the sharpest adapter. But part of the sharpness is the tradeoff with the more diffusing element of the GG which doesn't render the bokeh as well as the sgpro.

Always tradeoffs.

But soon the blade will offer the best of both worlds. Testing will commence soon.

Keep the experience threads here in the 35mm adapter forum.

one for each camera is fine. I'l probably do HVX and EX1

sounds good.

Tim Naylor and i will perform a test, then we i wll let you know what we did. this way there can be crossed referenced similarities.

Very good guys!
I will be shooting with both XH-a1 and dvx-100, and I will follow your "thread setups" :)
