hey guys
i have a short film that i wanted to upload to vimeo. i shot it with a 7d but it is not looking right in playback. i have a few documentaries up that were shot with an hvx and i use the apple tv option in compressor for those and they look fine. however, when i use the apple tv for this stuff shot with the 7d it looks terrible. i redid it and used a vimeo setting described by vimeo here: http://www.vimeo.com/2051588
now it looks stretched and still bad... what settings are you guys using for vimeo uploads? you using compressor or just exporting to QT from FCP?
oh and i am using fcp 6.0
thanks for the help

720 mp4, 5000+ bitrate, automatic key frames, multi pass, always does the trick out of fcp, quicktime or compressor.

I'm not familiar with how stuff comes out of FCP but is there an easy way to get footage into a 1:1 pixel ratio. Magic checkbox if you will?

I hate having to describe what pixel ratio means over and over and not know the specific workflow answers since they differ across applications.

If you're using FCP 7, you can right click your final sequence, click share, and use the YouTube option. It'll make a 720p file that's just as suitable for Vimeo.

Otherwise, there's more exact instructions on Vimeo's upload FAQ
