Settings for speed changes

Hi guys, I have a question regarding the settings for best results when wanting speed changes, time remapping you know
my concern mostly is to shoot 24p or 60p

delivery is 24p
I use final cut 7 and after effects cs4

I wanna say that about half of the 30 sec commercial will have footage that has speed changes

what produces best results?

commercial has no audio by the way

Thanks guys

i would define best results by least blurred image, which would result from having more frames to work with.

the lower the frame rate, the less frames to interpolate into the space you've stretched open and the more blurred the image/motion.

the higher the frame rate, the more actual recorded frames available to fit the spaces you've created.

its why you shoot 60p for clear, less-blur slow motion.

Thanks for that, two last things
What shutter speed for 60p?
I know that too high produces jittery effects which is what I don't want
My last conern is:
Without conforming to 24p using cinamatools and just drop 60p into a 24p timeline does this produce good results for normal 24p
The thing I don't understand is why is it that when you conform in cinema tools it does slowmo and just droping it to a 24p timeline it plays at normal speed, why is that?

180 degrees = 120 for 60p. should default to that.

i think 60p in 24p timeline without slowmo looks fine, you just don't get the same motion blur that you do recording in actual 24p. each individual frame is much more clear than a 24p frame.

i believe the definition of 'conform' includes making 60p into 24p, forcing slowmo.
just dropping the clip into the timeline is not conforming the clip, its just dropping it in. ;)
