settings for shooting action sports

slo-mo with the hvx200

slo-mo with the hvx200

butterstick, you are almost there. getting good slo-mo is more than camera settings, it also takes good technique.

with slo-mo, you typically can't have it both ways. if you want both, each one will be slightly worse than if you decided before you shoot. make sense?

for the best results, you should shoot only for slo-mo or only regular mo.

but if you absolutely, positively, superHD need it to be both... then 720p60 is the way to go. This records audio too, unlike the "pn" modes! So you shoot 60p and your framerate is 60 too. You can convert this to 30p or 24p for slo-mo, and you can always go back "normal".

good luck buddy,
andrew

i was talking to a friend who uses a hvx200 and he said he shoots 24pn. I was thinking of shooting the same thing but here is where the confusion comes in. When im shooting 24pn what is the slow motion like?
he also said to put the frame rate 30-60.

i want to be able to have regular motion and slow motion.

i guess im totally confused with all of this. could someone help me out
