Setting viewfinder/LCD to color bars

simple

Hi,

I've seen it mentioned a number of times how it can be good to calibrate the camera's displays using the color bars. I was seaching the internet for a guide to do this, and with every guide I find, they talk about "turning the color right down" etc. However the camera doesn't appear to give me that kind of flexibilty over its display settings. Can anyone direct me to a webpage that can help,

thanks,

Sam

You don't calibrate the camera LCD. The color bar is there to calibrate external display (field monitor, editing monitor etc.). Basically you turn on the color bar and hook up the camera to the monitor, then fix the color. If you're editing footage, turn on the color bar and record a few seconds on tape so that your comp monitor can be change to display the correct picture.
