You wanna run this ship?!

Yeah!

Well you can't.

LMAO, I love that part in the trailer. This movie seems weird, but again I've never seen a firefly episode in my life, and to be honest, never even heard of it before until the other day reading about it on IMDB.

I laugh EVERYTIME I see that. Pure genius.

just saw this yesterday at a 10:30am showing and i have to say, i was quite impressed. watching cynical characters become more earnest and purposeful toward thematic elements like truth, love, morality and transcendental humanism were an unexpected aspect to a film like this. unlike most mainstream action pictures, this was a rare bit of mindless entertainment for the thinking man... if there is such a thing.

will have to give the series another shot. i was left unimpressed by the two-part pilot episode.

Finally watched it today, 2 days after local release.

What? Am I supposed to write a review or something? I knew I would love it, having seen Firefly, which became my favourite tv show ever (well, ok, there is also BB, but I never quite grew up to love characters there as much as Mal and company) and it did not disappoint. One of the best movies of the past year(s). Very saddened by certain events that took place and somewhat surprised at the changes in some characters, but absolutely loved the movie.

Was gonna type "You can't take the sky from me..." for TC, but this one is even more catchy:

Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne

:cheesy:

"Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne!"

I love that episode

I was just gonna say I dont have SC-FI channel so I've only seen about 6 episodes (I will probably buy the series) I saw the movie about a earlier this week and LOVED IT!! I was a little upset about "Wash" but im coming to terms with it (one day at a time, but its okay he lives!!! as steve the pirate in dogeball) The thing is I also saw it with my GF and her mom. My GF was mildly impressed, but my GF's mom really liked it and she had never seen the series.

So I say if your looking for a good time this is a great movie!

but if you have a hover craft up your @$$ "even if it is going 10mph" then you might wanna just sit at home complaing and smashing stuff.

Serenity rocked!!! I loved it. Joss Whedon continues to amaze me. I for one am looking forward to his take on "Wonder Woman" (I can only fantasize that Carisma Carpenter will don the famous blue panties....oohhhhh).

Solid movie. Nice acting and super tight writing. Love Whedon's visual style and he did not disappoint. The show never should have been canned.

See it now, before its gone.

I loved this movie. Malcom reynolds is what Han solo should be (back when he shot first) I loved the series, and was not dissapointed by the movie. I'm very sad to see it drop out of the top ten so quickly. Where are all the sci-fi fans? Going to see The Fog I guess. I hope it's doing well oversees, and has a huge DVD release, because i'd love to see more of this in the future.

I think it's the "haven't seen the show" factor. Honestly, i don't think the trailer is enough to get non-fans to go. All of us Browncoats can only evangelize to the masses so much...

I think the best thing Whedon could do would be to re-cut the trailer and try a second round of marketing.

I have a friend I'm going to take to see it, but I'm waiting for her to finish the tv episodes first. She'll just enjoy it more that way I think.

I saw it a week ago, and loved it. Definitely one of the funniest movies I've seen all year. Just like a more expensive 2 hour long episode of Firefly!

Now I just trying to get a friend to go see it, who wants nothing to do with "that space-western."

There were 6 people in the theater when I saw it last week.

And the idiot projectionist didn't compensate for it -- kept the sound levels up to where they should be for a room full of sound-absorbing bodies. Unpleasant.

I somehow was dragged to see this, worst film I've seen in years. Not an original idea present among the cliched characters who spout horribly acted dead dialogue we've heard a million times. Film can be better.

Wow, how do you REALLY feel about it?

yea, like Star Wars?

Hmm... I don't ever recall hearing "do you want to run this ship....YES...well, you can't" anywhere else.

I just watched the series again. Loved the series, and the film. Very sad to see it not do well. When River says "My turn" and goes to fight the Reavers....very cool. I loved in the beginning when Mal asks River if she understands her part in all this, and she says "Do you?" Also very cool. he's talking about the caper, and she's talking about much more. Not my idea of dead dialog.

Amen!

I just got back from seeing it again. Really great film, picked up on some stuff I didn't notice the first time through. Got to love that first shot, one of the longest, most expansive steadicam shots I've seen in a while.
