Sept 1st LA meet - Venice Beach - 10am

That works for me Charli... Forget shopping at Beverly Hills? Why? Do they sell coochie bags anywhere else? I want to get my girl a genuine Loo-ee Fattonn bag or something.

:-) We won't be shopping anywhere! Shopping is for losers... or at least losers with money to spend.

If you've never been to Beverly Hills, then definitely take a stroll down Rodeo Dr... :)

That should work for me also... right around there anyway.

Brandon... I was hoping that maybe for one of the parks we may be able to get a group together? I wonder if any DVXusers would want to go with?

I've been to both parks in LA before... but the Raiders ride is worth the price of admission at Disneyland all by itself... and now with the new Mummy ride at Universal I guess we'll have to hit both of them... Have any of you guys been on the Mummy ride yet? Don't give me any "spoilers" on the ride, but I'm curious if you've been on it and how you rate it.

The Raiders ride is probably a solid 8-9 in my book... I'd say it's the leading amusement park ride on my list so far... right behind it would be Splash Mountain and the Hotel of Terror (or whatever they call it) in Orlando... and the Spiderman ride at Universal in Orlando stuck with me for a long time also.

I got the fast pass there at Universal, so I didn't have to wait in line, except I had to get a reserve for the Raider's ride, that one was freakin' awesome. DON'T eat in Universal, horrid food. Instead, step outside the park and take a walk along Universal walk and eat at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Okay people, meet up at 10am in front of the Venice's muscle beach area. If you want my number, pm me and that way if you come late, you can find us. We'll be easy to spot, the poorly playing football beachmongers.

The mummy ride was kind of lame.
They are just about to shut down the back to the future ride, so if you haven't ridden on that it might be worth it. I didn't get to check out the new wetter jurassic park ride.

I'm from the South, so these are the rules by which we played TOUCH FOOTBALL, let me know if they will work, not work for you.

1. 4 downs to make a first down, you need to however have TWO COMPLETED PASSES to make a first down (that's four tries, distance is of no consequence).

2. No running with ball, in other words, the quaterback cannot give the ball to the running back, this is a full passing game.

3. Two hands touch below the waist, so if you have one hand on the chest and one on the hips, doesn't count, this forces the person to mimic a tackle by reaching down and slapping two hands below the waist.

4. If there extra person left to rush quarterback (odd number team) he must count to mississippi 7 (mississippi one, mississippi two, etc.), before he can rush at the quarterback.

5. Pushing and shoving is allowed to a degree, however, no holding or grabbing.

Okay, I know this may appear like a lot of rules, but it's very basic. We shove, push, just don't grab or hold and I once had someone bear hug me, too funny.

The Mummy is OK... it's basically just an indoor roller coaster that's tamer than Space Mountain... honestly, D-land is a better choice IMHO... I do agree, the Spiderman ride at Islands of Adventure was WICKED AWESOME! Best ride I've ever been on, hands down... Did you ever see the car stunt show at MGM in Orlando? That was pretty insane.

If you are interested Prodigi Products is willing to give your group a free demo of The Lumen. We'll be in Santa Monica from October 31st to November 6th for the American Film Market. While we're there we'll happily meet your group at a nearby location and demo the lights for you. We'll also extend the AFM discount to your group members.

Please let me know if you're interested.

Prodi - are you guys going to play some football with us? If you're gonna sell something, might as well sweat along with us.

I'm afraid we'll be busy at the AFM 24/7...however, as a fellow DVXUser member, I'm willing to find the time to do a presentation for the LA DVXUser group.

Prod - we're going to be playing football straight up as soon as Tommy gets there. I'm only going to wait for about 20 minutes for people and make them come find us. So it's the time thing that's a problem.

So who's in for the meet?

Charli
Tommy
matty_g
MattSTL
cordvision

I'll see if I can lasso a few more people.

I might have to do some ADR... crap... we just went to the pier with Michelle's bro and his fiancee too... we'll see if we can make it but I doubt it.

Oooooooh, a gathering. I'll try to make it. I may be shooting that day so we'll see. :)

No kidding, where's Brian? I understand if you're busy DC, but if you don't come, I'll understand that you didn't want to get beat by a girl...
