C100: Sensor replacement with DAF upgrade?

My C100 (mk I) sensor has damage from a DJ's laser. Does getting the DAF upgrade replace the whole sensor? Anyone know how much getting the sensor replaced costs otherwise? Thanks

C300 Mark II sensor in the C100 body ... smaller size and weight of the C100.
We live in hope for a C200, or a C100 MKIII, failing that (which is almost guaranteed at this point), them Sonys are sure looking great.

OP, it's my understanding the DPAF upgrade does not replace the sensor.

Canon's very vague with the upgrade process, but at $500 I doubt it's a sensor replacement.

Eric, while it may be feasible to physically fit the C300 MK II sensor inside of the C100 (which I have my doubt about anyways) there is no way the C100 could process the full potential of the data coming from that sensor. A sensor is only a small part of the whole image train inside of a camera.

Temper whatever the cost of repair might be with the cost of used c100, it might be more cost effective to buy a used camera.
