F55: Sensor Cleaning

After five years I'm finally getting my sensor cleaned. I noticed some spots for the first time about three months ago. Aperture fairly wide open, shooting into a bright window Fist and only time I've noticed it. Because I live in a Northern Canada I have to ship gear out for service which is stupid expensive. Has anyone tried one of the various brushes on the market to clean their F55 sensor? Obviouslly not the sensor directly but the LPF in front of it.

Cheers

Watch this video Gizmo. Will give you the low down on cleaning your sensor, or as you put it correctly the filter in front of the sensor. The video also covers the best tools etc to use, such as the Arctic Butterfly. I've been cleaning broadcast OB cameras this way for years. Should you ever see such a thing as a finger print on the LPF, which I have, use a high quality optical lens cleaning fluid and lens cleaning cloth and gently wipe away the finger grease. Quality opticians will generally have a cleaning fluid that is suitable for coated glass spectacle lenses, this will work fine.

Arctic Butterfly is a great tool and does the job in 95% of the cases. At my A7rIII (stills mostly) dust is always an issue with the short flange. I use the Arctic Butterfly at least one time a day and sometimes at every change of the lens.
