Selling a DVX 100B???

I have owned a DVX since 2006. When i bought it in March of 2006 I paid around $4,200 after taxes and it came with a 3 year extended warranty on top of the manufacturers 1 year warranty.

After using the camera very lightly for almost 4 years I decided to buy the panasonic HPX. I love the P2 Media and am very happy to not have to use tapes anymore.

Now I have a DVX that will never get used that has 151 hours on the heads and is in mint condition. I am now wondering what to do with the DVX that sits and collects dust?(I dust it once a week)

I have posted it a few on times on various sites to try and sell, but with HD taking over the market, and the low prices of lower end HD cameras is there any way i can get a decent price for my DVX?

If anyone is reading this, let me know what you think I should and for that matter could sell my mint condition, 151 hours used DVX for.

any info and input is greatly appreciated.

thanks

I just snatched up the ag-dvx100b of ebay with 80 hours of use, letus35mm adaptor with nikon mount, 2 nikon 35mm lenses, manfrotto 293 support system, dvx rain jacket, 40 sony premium tapes and lots of other bits for £1500 which in dollars (google tells me) coverts to $2 336.25 U.S. dollars. Sadly you wont get anywhere near your $4.200 for it. I'd probably keep it for what my opinion is worth.

Im thinking about selling my DVX and its newer than yours. But yeah, 1000 is the most you will get for it more or less.

I sold a 35-hour 100b the other day; had the box and accessories, mint condition. Put it on eBay starting $500 with a BIN of $1200. Lasted about 6 hours.

If nothing else, they make really nice field audio recorders...

The DVX100b is still a current camera. Panny still sells them. SD is still going strong...and will for awhile longer. This camera still ROCKS!

The DVX brand new was almost $3000 and to think that the most you'll get is a third back. Crazy!

I bought mine with a bunch of extras for about $2300.00, booked one job that paid $4500.00....need I say more.
(FYI... the camera only has 49 hours on it) I did the same with my HMC150...and I'm going to do the same with the AF100.

If you were going to sell it, it should have been when you purchased the HPX.

I'd keep the camera and find a few small gigs...hell, it should be REALLY easy to make ~$1,500.00...that's better then selling it for $1K on eBay...and you still have the camera!
Make it work for you. Find a local band that can cough-up $500 for a really cool video.
