I have $ 2000 and would like to get HD camera. I have DVX100B but it time to get HD can somebody tell me please what kind of camera I can get I know its very low bjt... should i go for DSLR or any pro camera equivalent with my DVX100b but HD please please help me up guys thank you.

depends what your shooting for. but a t2i and some decent lenses should fit that price range. you could for a 7d but you'd lack on the lenses. i shoot with 7d & t2i and the t2i is pretty damn good for video. only thing is you do need shoulder rigs so you may have to also fit a something like a indisystem rig into your budget.

dvxuser rule #1. Do not talk about dvxuser.

rule #2, do not talk about dvxuser.

rule #3. never ask "what camera should i buy?" (budget aside)without first disclosing what you intend to shoot, other gear you have, editing specs, etc....you'll get nothing more than the responses you've gotten sofar..."buy this!"...no "buy that"....so let us know what you are shooting, and what you are looking for in an HD camera, please.

Hello there sir!

I am located in southern California and am selling my used Canon A1 for 1600 dollars. It is in great condition! The A1 is a great camera as it shoots in 1080i with 24,30, and 60i. I've loved it and have taken care of it, but job as a newsphotographer does not allow me to enjoy it.

Here is a link to my reel which I used to shoot about 90% of. I'm more than happy to meet up so you can check out the camera anywhere in Southern Ca. I am also including two additional batteries, a uv polarizer that stays on to protect the glass and a bag. I'm also throwing in a sennheier shotty mic. It shoots on HDV.

you dont want a DSLR if youre coming from a video camera world. UNLESS all you shoot is feature type stuff. there are a lot of things a DSLR isnt good for AND you'll have to buy a bunch of external audio gear just to get where youd be with a typical HD video camera.

Buy the HMC150, oh wait I have one for sale how convenient =)

But in all seriousness if your coming from a DVX as I did you should consider either the HMC150 or 7D, again really depends on what you'll be using it for, if its more controlled shoots, 7D would be great, events an HMC is a great choice, I have both and prefer the 7D only because of the low light capabilities, plus its impossible to get a clean edit with footage from these two cams, it just looks completely different so I wont be keeping the HMC, but thats just me, it has served me well and in some instances its a lot more practical, like on a Steadicam, the HMC balances so much better the 7D and so on. Anyway those are my recommendations. PM me if your interested in the HMC.
