See ya...

About to lose the internet any time now, moving out in a couple days, and ther isn't any telling when I'll be able to get back online. So if you don't hear from me for a month or 6, don't panic.

Contact will be sketchy, my laptop doesn't want to connect, and we won't have satellite for a while. People keep mentioning another type of card through the phone companies? Can't remember what they called it though...

Anyways, several folk here have jumped in on my other Georgia thread ( http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=171203 ), so I know they're in the neighborhood. If they'll get in touch, maybe I can pass messages on through them... via pigeons.

If I remember correctly, you posted that you'll be off the electrical grid. I'd be (and I think I speak for others when I say they, too, will be) interested in hearing how that goes. Jason said he's willing to type up your handwritten postcards, so getting posts online won't be a problem.

In a hotel for the next month, and just got the wireless internet going... at $4.99 for our entire stay. Only paying $49 a night, so you can imagine the classy digs we're staying in. 2 queen size beds, a small (Really small) kitchen, internet signal that keeps disappearing, and loud crackheads next door.

They kept slamming doors, hanging outside the door on the cellphone, and pissing off my dog. At 2am, the guy was outside the door arguing loudly on the phone, setting off the dog again. I had enough and threw the door open. Now let me explain, I get really cranky when I don't get enough sleep, and I was really considering throwing this guy over the railing, and let him consider common manners as he's falling 3 floors. Just the look on his face said he understood as I told him to keep it down and take it somewhere else.

It lasted for about 20 minutes, then he went inside and started fighting with his woman, and it went on till 4. Having brought the short sword for when we get to Georgia, I was sure I could penetrate both his door and him in one thrust. I called the hotel this morning, explaining that either they needed to move the crackheads, or us, but one more night of that and he will go over the rail. Mindy had to get up at 5 for work, and we had to drop her off to finish packing and cleaning the house we were supposed to be out of yesterday. They talked to them and gave 'em a warning. We'll see how that works out.

Alright... update time! The closing has been moved up to the 22nd. We'll be pulling out of Orlando at 1AM on Tuesday/Wednesday, and taking the 8 hour long drive to Georgia. So, after that, there really won't be any contact.

If any of you Georgia boys are interested in getting a hold of me, shoot me a PM, and I can give you my new cell number. This is if you might be interested in either getting reports to pass along, or if you would consider taking some spare time to shoot some of the activities for possible use in a doc or reality type show. As it is, my gear is locked in a pod, and I won't have access to it for an undetermined amount of time... long story there too. I do have the wife's Hi8, and will shoot what I can myself.

Again, I will be east of Macon, and just south of Tennille.

Still alive, but life really sucks at times. Between 100+ weather and monsoons, it gets interesting. Nothing has gone according to plan, but then, I never expected it to anyways. The State of Georgia has dragged it's feet, and has yet to approve my wife's Nursing License... even though they physically received it a month ago. So, no income. We are still working on getting the cabin up, but without the extra cash for tools and materials, it isn't getting done. But, we will have it finished by winter.
Quirk out.

Last time I lived in Georgia, Atlanta to be more precise, they had "pollution warning" and advised that we stay indoors. I thought LA was bad!
