Hello,

Here is my second test with the Nikon D7000. Gear used was the D7000, cartoni head and sticks, 17-35mm, 80-200mm, and some ND filters.

Here is the link to the short.

Thanks guys! The last time I checked I did have one blue hot pixel during video at iso 1600 or higher. But when I shot the night scenes at 1600, I didn't see the blue hot pixel during post.

Hmmm thinking about it, I tested the camera a few weeks ago for any hot pixels at 3200K and found the blue one. But when I shot the night stuff for Mile High City, I was at 5200K. At 3200K, would that cause the blue channel to respond differently as it's being boosted? Maybe exciting some blue channel pixels. Just guessing.

P.S. I just checked the camera for any hot pixels at 3200 iso and I now see no hot pixels. At both 3200K and 5200K. Can these hot pixels come and go?

My **understanding** is that DSLRs color balance by adding gain to specific RGB channels; so when shooting at 3200k, the blue channel is being amplified to compensate for the native daylight balance of the sensor.

Shooting with my T2i and tungsten lights has caused me to invest heavily in daylight fixtures as I see more grain with the tungsten profile. And I really love my tungsten gear and have a fashion and jewelry (Stills) commercial portfolio that was shot 90% with (discontinued) tungsten reversal stocks...
