Those who buy no-name cards from China on an ebay auction are taking a risk.Given that some people are willing to put poison in children's milk to make a buck, it should be no surprise that they are just as willing to take a class 2 card and mark it as class 4 or 6. Worse yet, they'd be just as happy to take defective product and sell it as Class 10.
Those who see cards being offered for half-off or 75% off or whatever, are taking a risk.
There are those out there who can and will make counterfeit products and sell them much cheaper.
The truth of the matter is, you will pay, one way or the other. As the Fram oil filter guy used to say, "You can pay me now, or ... pay me later." Pay once for the best quality cards up front, and have trouble-free service. Or cheap out and get cheap trash cards, and pay through the nose to re-shoot when those cheap cards fail.
And yes, there's the potential for failure in any electronic device, but stick with the best brands and you should be able to minimize the risk.
