SD Card stuck in GH1 card slot

happened to me the tab broke off inside the camera, I didn't know this at the time and used metatarsal to pull it out and when I did it broke the carriage mechanism. Cost me $230 to repair, ordered the new card carriage from panasonic cost over $100 and service was around $100. I had a service manuel and found how to remove the back of the camera and if I would've done that first I would've probably been able to release the card without damaging the carriage. Because of the earthquake in Japan the part took over 2 weeks to deliver. When I got it back it lost the hack so i reinstalled and I'm back up and running.

Hi, guys,

I just removed my card out of the camera, after reading many useful posts and one day effort.

The approach is really simple. Find a plastic thin sheet; cut a strip with a width approximately equal to your sd card; insert the strip into the slot; you will find you can easily pull out the card.

The plastic sheet can be a plastic cover of some toys or electronics.

Old thread....I've removed write protect tabs and bits of tape, etc, from the card door with a pair of forceps and a flashlight several times. I wouldn't recommend trying the tape method, that's how I got tape in there lol.
