GH4 SD Card for GH4?

I don't have a GH4, but a Samsung Pro (2014) can do up to 30+MB/s in a GH3. That's based on stills burst. Obviously the GH3's 72Mb/s codec is no where near that, so I'm going by the stills figure instead. I got my 64GB when it was cheap, at US$50 from Amazon. I think it's a bit more now.

I am using the Transcend and it works fine, both the 64GB and the 128GB. Used it to cover a balloon festival. But I am not using 200 mb/sec. Interestingly, a lower speed Transcend 32 GB works fine too, but the 64GB version does not. The GH4 formats it, then says the card is full! Don't throw away your old cards...some of them may work in the GH4 just fine, though you won't get as much record time.

I have had such good reliability with the Sandisk cards for the last 4 years that I'm pretty reluctant to try anything else (at least for video), I'm currently using the 64gb Extreme PRO's and I've had no issues with either UHD or 4K acquisition in the GH4, I also have a lot of 32gb Extreme PRO's that have worked perfectly. I wish they were cheaper, I need 3 or 4 more 64s.

You can always try the Extreme Plus cards - they're 90% of the speed for 60% of the price.

I have been using Sandisk Extreme Pro U1 class 10 cards exclusively on my GH4 with the original firmware and have never had a single issue. They won't do 200mbps all I 1080, but they do all the 100 mbps perfectly. I"m sure there are other cost effective options, but these seem to be perfectly adequate to the task at hand.

Cheers,
Pete
