Screen Grab and Question

- We had to continually adjust the f/stop due to the weather, but I believe we ended up with f/4 combined with a 0.9 ND filter.
- This is supposed to be part of a dream sequence, so in post-production I added two filters, diffusion max and bleach bypass, to help achieve that feel.

A question I have is about those horizontal lines you see in the picture. I don't know if that has to do with the 5:1 compression and is normal, or if it has to do with the way I captured and imported it into Final Cut Pro? Any thoughts?

I shot the footage using the 24Pa mode and then used Cinema Tools for Reverse Telecine so that I could put it into a 23.98 timeline.

Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

did you boost the saturation when shooting? because i m a new owner of a dvx100b too and i read and noticed that this thing happens on red colored areas. it appears only on the skin of the guy aparently.

I figured it out. I didn't change the settings of the timeline. I was trying to put a 23.98fps clip in a 29.97 timeline. Sorry to bother everyone with this simple mistake.

I could post some more grabs, but they would just be from the same take.
We wanted to do some more setups and shots, but unfortunately the weather hampered our test-shooting. After we set-up, dark clouds rolled in and really gave us the eerieness/tone we were looking for. Then it poured down rain. Thank goodness we had towels over the DVX.

That's actually me in the water, and it was freakin' freezing. I don't know what I was thinking jumping in a creek in the middle of January during a storm, but hey, I wanted the footage. It felt like a rites of passage of some sorts.

We plan on going back soon and getting some more setups. I wondered if we can still capture a similar feel/tone without the dark clouds?

**This is all test-footage we are shooting for an upcoming short film of mine.

i like it but the black looks blurred to a point where it looks like it was on the computer... try adding film grain of something
