GH2 Sci-Fi short 'Auroras' - Shot on Hacked GH2

Our ultra feminine, sci-fi love piece centered around the backdrop of a space elevator:

Was literally shot with a 3-person crew in my living room on a tiny green screen stage using Hacked GH2 & Canon 5D, but had several years of visual effects work. It took SO LONG to make cause we used very little render farm help and my PC in the home office was basically rendering by itself on the cheap for a year and a half. Hahaha!!!

I've certainly concluded you don't need to put in higher cost on more expensive camera hardware, since this film was essentially shot on a $1000 camera. Have started shooting the next project with a rented GH4 and footage looks even more stellar.

great work... don't get me wrong... its not the camera... its your effects skills that sell this... but it does show that you can do it also...

Beautifully done. It has a place in some LGBT festivals as well as sci-fi genre festivals, if you were interested in that route.

Visually stunning, a real achievement. Wasn't a fan of the VO at all though; I think it could work with just the music, sound design and visuals telling the story.

Will you be doing a BTS/How to video? Im embarking on similiar project and this is visually out of this world..no pun intended.

That was the most ridiculously stoopid awesome thing I've ever seen that wasn't attached to a major studio or effects house.
Holy fook!
It's not just your control of CGI technology - many people can do that - it's your CHOICES. Your Design style. Your understanding of what makes your content look real, look impressive, and look interesting.

You knocked this one the fook outta the park, mate.

Fair comment sure. Interesting you say that cause I am planning on also rolling out an alternate version with no voice over. Apparently 2001 originally had voice over and then Kubrick removed it which in the long run made the work stronger.

Short of a view stills during the shoot, we didn't really get any set video for a behind the scenes. Even though it's quite secondary and not to do with shooting, there is a visual effects breakdown here though mate - https://vimeo.com/92427884

Just watched this in my 50" Samung plasma. There was no part of this which made be believe it didn't come from Hollywood.
