Schneider Cine-Xenar II's

Anyone have any experience with these lenses?
What are the differences with the newer Mark III's?
Can't seem to find any comparisons between the two sets.

I assume the question about barrel extension may have been raised, don't know if that was resolved in the Mark II's or not.

Would love to know how they pair up with the F3.
I have seen tests where they appear sharper to me than CP.2's and with less vignetting...

I have heard they fall somewhere in between Cooke and Arri in terms of the way they roll off focus.

Probably could get a set at 50% of their initial price (around 15,000 Euros (about $20K US) for a set of 5: 25, 35, 50, 75, 95).
Seems like a good deal to me (still would need an 18 or wider solution though) but thought I should check in here.

Obviously going to take a test spin first though.

I think the 2s still have the barrel extension.

It's a tough call between those and a set of Red primes...both have great IQ, and both drive ACs a little nuts. Both are beasts.

In the long haul though, I suspect the Schneider name will retain a little more value.

Don't know much about them. I tried researching them myself before I bought my CP.2s - but there was barely any information or useful user reports on them anywhere on the Internet, so I played it safe with the Zeisses.
