Damn, that first clip was pretty well done, for B movie shlock. Look out, Roger Corman.
I liked the look of the lake. The creature was believable too. Could have used more suspense, and a better performance from the girl. Also, the close-up had a lot of obvious light thrown at her face.
I'll watch the other clips (so, a success so far).
edit
It has an old time sensibility in the look, especially the police. I wish the sound was a bit better. Maybe get a sound-designer to punch it up, the foley, ambience.
Is this thing almost done, or are you trying to get funding to shoot the whole thing?
I've got a great b-movie script floating around, myself...
Thanks polfilmblog. I agree I'll have to work on the sound aspects when I get farther into it, right now they are rough edits. Thing is nowhere near done, I figure it will take a year, as I'm having to do everything myself, learning 3d etc.
I'm purposly shooting without a script, I have the outline written and scenes blocked out in my head but remaining flexible enough to take adantage of any locations or opportunities that present themselves. I write the dialog with the actors and storyboard the night before.
I may pursue funding when I get a few more important and very funny/gross scenes shot then will put together a trailer/website etc. but so far I don't really need it. Am about 20 minutes into it.
That first scene was incredible. Like Charli said, it felt like Jaws all over again. One thing though-- that last shot with the creature above the surface just killed the suspense for me. I think showing less, in this case, is better.
Very well done
