Scene settings.......newbie

Looking at your scene settings you're blacks are really crushed. I can't think of too many reasons you'd want it at -6. I'd put it at -2 or -3. Then your phase is outta wack too. Try setting that to 0. This may clear up some of the problems. Also try black balancing. Just hold your white balance button down for a couple seconds and it will auto black. Oh and perhaps if you just re-initialized your settings, that could clear up the whole problem.

Thanks for that man, im at work now but ill try that when I get home. When you say re-initialized my settings do you mean a reset? Ive already tried that and it didnt change anything.

Actually I shoot with my master ped anywhere from -5 - -10, and adjust the chroma phase all the time, I assure you it will not make the image look posterized such as it is in mrpickleheads shots.

I spoke to the people at panasonic and they told me to take my camera to a place in Kent to get it fixed, I spoke to that guy and he says that it'll cos $95 to take a look and probably 2 hours @ $95phr to fix. I don't know what I should do. Im pretty sceptical about repair places and how much work actually needs done. Any suggestions? It's not under warrenty apparently because it's a PAL model purchased in Europe.

A while back someone posted some settings they have been using one of which was supposed to look like the movie "MAN ON FIRE". I recently did a shoot in bright sunshine in downtown Philly and used those settings that was posted here and I will have to say that the results were pretty amazing! The only thing Id tweak the nest time is the Master Ped. I am at work now so I don't have the settings right now but could re post them later.

thats some great settings info - thanks for sharing. i wish more people would share the wealth - we should have a 20 page thread of just settings and grabs!!!! but we do have a "man on fire" setting....does anyone have a "bourne supremacy" setting. im dying to get something that looks like that. any help?

Yep thats the settings...I will post something later on when I get home from work! The thing I had to change in your settings was the Color Temp. +4 made my video blue and I had to go with a -3 or -4. I had the Master Ped set to about -9 from your -15 and like I said its all about tweaking the settings once you get a basis to start from! Thanks again!
