Hi there, Im rather new to the dvx world.. i can set my camera up fine and what not. but i am confused what exactly every scene file setting does.. could anyone give me a breif run through? Thanks.

Well basically the answer you're looking for is already in your manual but...

(if your presets are factory defaults)

Scene File 1: That's a standard video look

Scene File 2: It's called Scene Flou., which is balanced for shooting under florescent lighting and low light.

Scene File 3: Scene Spark, has higher detail levels in it's presets and is intended to make things sharper.

Scene File 4: Scene B-Str, crunches your blacks and makes things more contrasty.

Scene File 5: 24P, film-like image and in progressive mode unlike the previous files.

Scene File 6: 24P-Advanced, 24 frames but in it's output the signal is converted into 60i, meaning more frames but when then those frames are removed leaving you back with your progressive video and no loss in image quality which might result from just shooting in 24P.

Remember that you can change the settings to whatever you're personal taste so don't feel constrained by the defaults, experiment and have fun!

wicked!

When making your own scene file settings in the menu.. what does everything mean there.. obviously numerous are obvious ( color temp, auto iris etc) but what about the others

...Do you have a few days for me too explain it all to you?:undecided

Serioulsy! get Barry's Book!

If someone were inclined to make them, it might be handy to have smilies for it's in your manual, read your manual, it's in Barry's book, buy Barry's book, read Barry's book, use the search function and experiment with your camera.
