Scammer Alert... Details inside

Hi Everyone, I have an HVX 200 for sale here and revieved this email a bit ago:

"I'm interested in the immediate purchase of this item i will be paying
you a sum of $5700 i will want to complete the transaction in a very
timely manner and i will like you to ship out the item through via
USPS EXPRESS MAIL SERVICES(EMS SPEEDPOST)if you can do this,email me
with your paypal id so that i can proceed with payment right away.let
me quickly say that i will be sending this unit to my son in WEST
AFRICA ,he need this item urgent for his birthday gift, i will be
happy if u can email me back now."


Weve all seen hundreds of these but I thought I would post

yes a mugu with a hacked TKO ( overtaken) painpal account ....they got too many of those, thanks to the peeps who still fall for phishing mails and give their log&user details to a phish painpal website.....

That seems a bit harsh, doesn't it? I wouldn't recommend selling any expensive equipment to an area you are unfamiliar with, but saying not to trust anything from Africa seems harsh.

It does sound harsh, it doesn't have anything to do with any of the countries out there, it just so happens that that's where the most scamming goes down.


Here's just a couple of emails i've gotten from replies on craigslist
all promising to pay full price and to pay the shipping!
But the catch is they're out of town....or it's a present for their cousin....or they're about to move there.....

I am currently out of the country and will like to send the camera over to my brother, he just established a studio in west Africa recently. I will appreciate it if you can go a little lower on the price. I will pay you via paypal and add extra $160 for the shipping expenses. Alright take it in the right context, the majority of the scammers are from Africa its just a fact. Im not saying dont buy stuff from legit dealers people etc. If you do a google search on the scamming in africa theres some good reports and even a special from 60 minutes that shows some of the worst countries to get stuff from.

All im saying is that it is a fact that Africa is up there with the scammers. I was thinking about you man!

Yeppers there have been way too many 60 minute specials on these jokers and people still fall for this ****. Don't make it more than it is (i.e. an ethnic issue (coming from a black dude :) ) these cats are scammmmmerrrrssss.
 
I love how the one guy claims to be a doctor, but has terrible grammar and spelling mistakes...totally believeable :p
