scam or no???

Zoommanie is a little sketchy, but I have read plenty of good reviews on resellerratings.com... The other one, I have no idea.

In my opinion I would rather spend the extra money from a trusted store (B&H, Henrys, etc.) than buy it from a place like zoomania. Just dont do it.

I would have to agree with everyone on this. Don't know so much about the other store but I was almost tempted to buy from zoomania. I read some negative reviews I decided to go with Willoughbys for my DVX100B. Even there I ran into some negative experiences even though they came HIGHLY recommended from CNET. So I usually buy from B&H and have not had a problem for over a year now. One thing I heard that has been VERY consistent is that places like zoomania and the like, will lure you in with some crazy low price i.e $1799.00 for a DVX100B (new). Once you pay for it you then receive an email saying they need to verify your information so call in. Once you call in they will say there out of stock of just the camera alone but we do have the kits that include the camera. Now the kits are really the catch because they start off at $2499.99 and up. So they end up getting you to go with with a kit that has the camera at the REAL going rate and they simply discount the extras in the kit to cover the semi-discount you end up getting. One would think they simply could take the camera from the kit right, naw...that's too much like right :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Hope this was helpful.

I bought my DVX100B from Newegg for $2399. I ordered it online on a Thursday and they called me on Friday to confirm that I had, indeed, placed the order. The woman on the phone told me that they like to check on high dollar purchases to help protect their customers from fraud. When she was satisfied that I had placed the order and that it was a legitimate purchase, they shipped it out immediately. I received it the following Tuesday. It arrived in excellent condition and I am completely satisfied with the camcorder and my experience with Newegg. I hope this helps.
