Versus 9 for the Sanyo?
Totally agreed. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that at the same bitrate, MPEG-4 would probably spank DVCPRO-HD. Given enough bandwidth, MPEG-4 (and even MPEG-2) can do amazing things. Given very little bandwidth, not so amazing. And HDCAM-SR gives it plenty enough bandwidth!"no mpeg4 is not better than DVCproHD" makes as much sense than "no video is not better than DVCproHD".
Again, absolutely agreed.I'm also getting tired that people think that fast progress in ict-technology can somehow change the way fotons react in the camera.
Camera with small imager can never be as good as same system with bigger imager. These small new "hd"-toys and comments like "in a couple of years cell phone cameras will be as good as motion picture cameras today" makes me just smile...
Without a doubt. The MPEG-2 profile/level combination 422P@HL has a 100-Mbps bandwidth and supports 4:2:2 color encoding and up to 1080p60 with 1,920 pixels per line. The rule of thumb is that at any given quality level MPEG-4 is up to twice as efficient as MPEG-2.Barry_Green said:In fact, I'd go so far as to say that at the same bitrate, MPEG-4 would probably spank DVCPRO-HD.
