I advise you to take a look at a few of the hit comedy series and learn a thing or two about the style, lighting and camera work used for this one. You'll be amazed.

Overall I thought this was very well executed and shows that the nx1 is a capable cam, but would like to find out how much of that posterization was going on in the original footage, or if an aggressive grade may have added to it. If anyone has knowledge and could answer this for me would be greatly appreciated.

They used the Atomos Shogun. I wonder how this works out for image quality.

I'm wondering the same thing. If the compression artifacts apparent in the youtube copy is any indication of the combo, then i will not even consider the added gear. I have seen very clean footage out of this cam, and am hoping this is just a case of youtube/ bad encoding. I'm getting nice results, even down to the final h264, so I know the nx1 is capable of clean footage, but most of the break down I usually see is from fairly unlit areas.

The ability to record directly to Pro Res or Raw for easier post production is of course the main reason for the Shogun. In terms of image quality many have found that there is not much difference from camera recording. I wish Samsung went really wild and introduced a firmware offering RAW like the Black Magic Pocket Camera did. That would be really bold from Samsung. i am really loving my NX1 both for video AND stills. I am still working the H265 conversion but little by little I am getting the hang of it. A truly remarkable little camera.
 
Samsung is a company with impeccable management and ambition.

There is nary an industry that they do not dominate once their sights are set

This is a single-camera short, not a live multi-cam sitcom.

The NX1 short should be, at worst, compared to something like this ... and it doesn't come out well.
