Safely combine FS700 AVCHD without breaking audio

So i have an old recording once the camera was fairly new, and i just dragged the AVCHD files off the SD card and onto my backup system. When you do this, the audio will have gaps when you manually put together the avchd chunks in premiere pro.

When im trying to open them in both Catalyst Browser and Content Browser now, neither program will put them together. Content Browser cannot even see or import the AVCHD files. I just tried to put the AVCHD onto a newly formatted SD card to see if file structure was of any use, but no.

Is there any way to sync the files together into a proper large file without audio gaps, or is all hope lost?

I think you need to open the original memory card using the program and let the program extract the files off like that whereby it will join them for you. If you just have the AVCHD files it's not good enough, all the folders / structure need to be there.

I could be wrong

Use the DOS Copy command in a Windows command prompt:

Copy /b 00000.mts+00001.mts C:\combine.mts

Adjust the file names and output name / directory to suite your computer before running the command, obviously.

NEVER join files that were NOT split by the camera due to the FAT32 2GB file size limit.

Simple, fast & free...

And from now on....always copy the "private" folder intact.

No need. Ive used Sony Content Browser for a long time already and it works perfectly. Syncs the files together and gathers everything nicely in a folder ready for logging.

These files i had trouble with where from the first few months owning the FS700.
