I have this, and so far, it's lasted longer than 4x internal batteries (1x OEM, 3x aftermarket). Let me keep the LCD on for 5hrs+ and record about 2.5hrs last Sat at a drift event, where the weekend before, I could only use the 4 batteries for around 4hrs while turning off the LCD between shots. I actually bought 2 of those batteries, so I had them stuck to my tripod next to each other. If one died, it would take 2 sec to switch the plug to the new one instead of fumbling with an internal battery like the week before. Very handy.

Very cool. Thanks for posting! I might get one of these...though so far I've been able to shoot with a bunch of Panasonic batteries in my pockets, swapping out as I go. But if I shoot a really long event without pauses, this would be great.

Saw this over on Cheesycam earlier today; Very impressed with it, but the downer for me is it doesn't appear to have any mounting points other than slapping velcro to both surfaces.

Yeah, that's what I've been researching today. Trying to find a universal accessory strap-type tripod mount, or at least something flat that I can stick some double-sided tape onto. Wouldn't trust Velcro unless they have seriously heavy duty adhesive versions out there. I've had too much Velcro glue just melt off in the FL heat and let stuff slide right off.

Nice - I've been a bit nervous to run 9v into the 8.4v input on the GH2... but apparently it works. Question - what cables/adapters do you use to run between the battery and the camera? I've already got the DC coupler for the camera, so it seems ridiculous to pay 70 for the kit, when for about 40 I can buy the battery, and the cable can't be more then a few dollars...

Thanks!

Gotta measure the plug on the coupler and socket on the battery, and find one that'll fit, or two ends that you can solder together. I just bought the kit so I didn't have to mess around with that stuff, especially if I had to solder two ends together. Don't wanna chance blowing up my camera like other people have from DIY battery mods...

Nice, I might have to do this. Got a live event coming up- using an AF100 as a main camera, and the GH2 as my B (and a GH1 as a C), and I'd really like to make sure the GH2 can be powered by battery for an extended amount of time...

I was looking into the battery grip, but this seems like more bang for your buck!

Sadly, no "kits" on the link from cheesy cam at the moment. I may have to just buy the battery and build my own adapter cable, which seems OK to me.
