Hello Community! :)

Would you guys consider the Sachtler DV2 II an ok choice for the GH-1 (no rig)? I'm a bit worried that the tripod won't be completely steady in a windy situation, since it only weighs 2kg, but I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to tripods. My plan is to buy second-hand on Ebay and resell the tripod when my short film is finished. This means I'm only able to choose between the tripods that are available in the next two weeks and the Sachtler DV2 II is one of them. Nevertheless, I do have relatively high standards, so please tell me if I'm buying a piece of junk...

all are depend on your "standarts"
best way to choose tripod - are touch it by self ... as for someone in one situation it will be steadier, but in other possible other models will be more approached ...
also significant point of used equipment - their state and how it slacking ... junk or not you will knew only when you got it from ebay ....
for additional stability tripods mainly have hinge for additional weight attaching

wind may be different - for storm wind you will need three L-beams welded tripod which weights wil be more than 300kg, and will need think about camera protection. Joke, but with meaning ...

Thanks for your reply DaLiV!

Ok, so in a worst case scenario I might have to stabilize the tripod with sandbags or something like that. Good. Problem solved.

Will the fluid-head work ok with a light weight camera like the GH-1 (only manual prime lenses will be used)?

any head must work smoothly even without cameras ... otherwise no worth to take that (if not plan do service on that, if that still be possible)...
about sandbags - take in acount maximal payload of tripod if sandgabs will be on tripod hinges ...

How does the Vinten Vision 3 compare to the Sachtler DV2? The Vinten looks more sturdy and is heavier (2,1kg vs. 2,8kg). Which head would perform 'better' with a GH-1? I'm aware that this is a matter of taste, but I do want to hear opinions...
