Has anyone tried the Zacuto cage for the S1H? Be nice to have some first hand input prior to buying. Or hear about other options

I will be adding wireless, shotgun, and monitor at times.

So no one has built up a Zacuto cage for the S1H?

I like the hand strap, RRS tripod attachment, and all the options. Also full access to all controls and top screen. But if I am missing something, please let me know before I order tomorrow?

I haven’t looked at the Zacuto cage for the S1H, but I’m a huge fan of what SmallRig has been doing. I’ve got their GH5 cage, and recently used their BMPCC4K cage, and they’re making good stuff. Might be worth checking out.

Great lead Stephen,

I had been taking a quick look at their gear and never used them in the past. But looking more closely their S1H cage, and the huge range of options look great. Now on the list at B&H waiting for the cage to show up in stock. And at less then half the price of Zacuto. Thanks

SmallRig S1H cage arrived, and I am very happy with the way it fits, how it is built, and options I now have rigging. Thanks Stephen

Very good, but has to wait till tomorrow when back in the studio. Will send a few of my setup for hand held and on tripod.

OK, here is ten crap pictures from my phone with bad lighting. Running out the door to shoot, and knew I would not have time later.

I have eight shots of the S1H on the tripod with RRS plate into a Kessler. I like this setup it is fast, easy, and keeps the plate on the camera small. Clicks in and locks. Basic cage setup with top plate and handle, XLR, left handle, and Cotton strap which is cheap and works great.

Then I add an Audio Tech AT875R if I need ambient sound, and one of my Lectro LR receivers. Would not be using both together. A few views.

After digging in my hand held bins, I found one of my old spring rods with velcro belt. On top is a universal fitting hooked to a RRS plate. So I can go right from tripod to this setup, and have 90% of the weight on the spring and use the viewfinder easily. This will be nice for a lot of my wireless narrative, and B-Roll shots. Also have another older shoulder brace, but the spring rod works fantastic and I have a spare.

Lens is the Panasonic S Pro 16-35 f/4, love it. Tripod is my Sachtler FSB8 and FlowTech 75 legs.
