Hello everyone, this is a short film my production crew has began working on as of the beginning of October. This is our first film as a group and are putting all of our energy into it.

The idea for the film comes from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and the 1979 Andrei Tarkofsky film Stalker.

We are currently in pre-production and will begin principle photography in November.

Here is some BTS footage of our green screen shoot:

I really like what you've done, I just think the trailer needs to show me more, only because it seems you have a lot of footage to work with, why not give the audience more to know? Oh, did you shoot with a permit or just guerilla with the terrorists running about, and what's your budget, if any?

Looks like you guys have some great locations and some good cinematography. The trailer was good, but I agree that you could have shown more of the story, but still cool.

Really nice, was that a half-life logo etched into the wall? :D The CG of the mutant doesn't quite work in it's form the first time you see it, but that may just be me? The flash frame worked well afterwards. Really good VFX. This is really minor, but why would they be so pissed off about not having a compass when they can see the sky? This is reaally really picky. But it seems like the compass was kind of forced upon us but not entirely explained. I understood they were lost, so i imagine this, and the end shot were the reason for the compass; but i think more dialogue would back it up? Also, I was really interested in why the guy is more worried about the compass than the other character's shot wound. I got that the two didn't like each other very much, but I wanted to know why? Why did they just dump him there and not try and help him?

Sorry if this is over critical, I really like this film. It looks and is paced really well :)

I enjoyed this and thought you had some really great effects. I know how hard and time consuming that can be, so my hat's off to you. The mutant wasn't bad at all. I think some more tweaking would make it perfect though. One thing I would suggest is to bump up on the sound effects for the guns. Your muzzle flashes looked great, but those gunshots just didn't work. They didn't seem to have enough "bang!" Especially in that tunnel with the close quarters and echo factor the gunshots would be loud and in your face. Gunshots are like that anyway and they're shooting full autos. Now it could have been my headphones, mind you, but everything else sounded really good. I'd invest in some better gunshots and if you can't find any, PM me and I'll send you over a couple that I have that might work.

I liked alot of what you guys did and the attention to detail with the gear and gas masks really pulled it through. The acting seemed forced in some spots, especially when he tells the guy at the end that if he doesn't go in there he'll die. The guy looks like he has a half smile on his face. Other than that this was kick-a** film with some really cool, seamless fx. Nice work!

Whoa. I thought it was great but like Marlon said, turn those gunshots up! I'll agree the acting was a little wonky. Sometimes actors just forget what it's like to be pissed off or upset, so they half-smile because they feel goofy for "acting" angry. The mutant looked pretty good to me. And that tunnel location was great.

Thanks for the responses, guys! This is our very first student short film so we are new to many of the aspects of film making, and as you can see writing is not yet one of our strong suites. Best way to get better is to just make a movie, right?

P.S. Definitely a half-life sign, we're huge video game fans so that we threw that in for anyone who knows Half-life.
