So today I had 5 minutes to play with the Slog and in camera LUTs.
Some fun for you guys:
Same shot in standard F3 709, Slog with the P2 hypergamma setting (so far the one I like the most) and finally with no Lut applied (clean Slog). BTW, this shot was shot at the same given aperture. In order to have been done properly the lens should have been stepped down at least 1 stop for Slog or stepped up for 709, but it was not a scientific test anyway.
Now, I predict a future with lots of videos with an ultrahyper flat, thanks to people shooting in Slog and not really grading it.
Love the Slog images, both graded and ungraded. Just look at the whites and the gradation. Unfortunately I'm having trouble with Hong Kong Sony Broadcast, they are being complete idiots, not responding to calls and emails. They just let me hanging on the phone for a simple information of were could I see the camera and get a hold of it. Talk about an unprofessional professional division. I'm used to deal with Panasonic HK and they have always been excellent, going all the way as to even lending me a P2 store when I had ordered it and they didn't have an unit, which they exchanged for the new one when it arrived. I'm seriously considering sending a letter to Sony Broadcast Global to see if this is a recurrence or was I just unlucky, but it really, really pisses me off!
