Running EOS utility on Android/iphone a possibility?

Im mostly a web programmer and attempting this is outside my current ability, but theoretically it seems like something that would be possible and an integration that canon would want.

Ive been using the EOS utility on my laptop for focusing shots and adjusting, looking at how few resources it uses, it should be theoretically possible to create an app to mirror EOS utility's functionality, give us touchscreen functionality, and let us use our smartphones as external monitors for video?

not that canon will get on board anytime soon (makes to much sense right)

anyone else have thoughts on the idea of this?
 
Yeah I don't know about Android but there are a couple of existing apps that do something like this on the iPhone.

Only problem with that iPhone app is that your camera has to be plugged into a computer connected to wi-fi. That doesn't give you much freedom.

Now if there was a cable going just from your camera to your iPhone, that'd be the ticket!
