Rumor: Canon 4k super35 camera

But here is the thing, if you come out and make comments like (paraphrasing heavily) "You can go and shoot movies on this directly" or that "students can realize their movies" and then have a price tag of $16k, that makes absolutely no sense to me. This camera should be AT MAX $8k for what I see so far. MAX. It just doesn't make any sense. To me, their dialog doesn't sound like they are talking to professionals.

I'll wait for this sensor inside a dslr body ...for a third the price. And it only has a digic III processor.

I agree completely. Wrong price bracket. If it were competing in the FS100 pool....at least I wouldn't scoff at Canon. This is STUPID. WWWwaaaaaaaaayyyyyYYYYYYY off the mark. (For the price)

Interesting, form factor is lame.

Alot of negativity considering no one knows the juicy details like DR, low light, bit rate etc

Also, since when has the intial price translated to street price.

Who give a crap? This pile of a camera can still doesn't do 60fps in 1080p... what a joke. Another camera we should have seen 2 years ago selling for 3x the price of technology...

Why should it be so much cheaper than the Sony, when it has such comparable specs, a higher-end codec, and LOG recording built-in?

Yes, at $8k it would be a genuine 'game changer', but at it's current price it's just another competitor - which is perfectly normal really. At least this makes my decision easier - it's back to the original plan of getting an FS100 (unless Red really comes through price-wise with Scarlet)
