Rumor: Canon 4k super35 camera

Though admittedly disappointed in the announcement; it does make me excited about the new line of Canon DSLRs.

I just prefer bigger bulkier cameras to work with, compared to the smaller form factor of this camera!

Who give a crap? This pile of a camera can still doesn't do 60fps in 1080p... what a joke. Another camera we should have seen 2 years ago selling for 3x the price of technology...

I do....What if it is pumping out 14.5 stops DR like an Alexa? What if it is clean at 25,600 like the 1D-X? What if it really does have Alexa like IQ?

i wonder if there is an "FF 300" in the works. that would be historic. it would also satisfy the people who have become used to and crave the 5d's ultra shallow DOF. it would also be the only pro camera with full frame at the moment. this is a no brainer. i'm seriously going to laugh for days if canon is dumb enough to have not done this....

HUH? I don't see ANYONE doing back flips.

1. Price bracket to feature ratio is WAY off.
2. Price bracket for YEAR of launch is WAY off.
3. 1080P (for price bracket and year of launch) is way off.
4. Codec for price bracket WAY off.
5. Upgrades (no 4:4:4 possible due to single SDI) for price bracket way off.
6. Bad impersonation of F3 (with Scarlet form factor/DSLR form factor) I like the form factor...just not for the specs/price.
7. ETC, ETC, ETC....

Easy fix here Canon....

Price it at 4,800.00 and you won't completely embarrass yourselves. (Many will still choose the AF100/FS100 btw)
F3 competition....heh....soooo funny!!! LOL. Good luck with that BTW.

This is what I'm most interested to see. It's the DR, tonality and highlight handling of the F3 with SLOG that makes it so amazing for the price. If the Canon can achieve that at a lower price point (which could amount to a couple of grand once you factor in the cost of SLOG on the F3), then they will have something special here.

The lack of 60p is pretty brutal though.
