Rumor: Canon 4k super35 camera

I actually think that price is actually a good not just for FS100, AF100 etc. But also for Scarlet. If Scarlet is also 15K but 3K raw...oh well, we'll see.

From the folks that pioneered bad design with the XL1...the tradition continues. Think I'll stick with my F3.

wow, that price was unexpected. for $16k it better shoot clean at ridiculously high ISO's, have better dynamic range than the 5d, and get rid of that nasty moire. oh wait, there are $5000 cameras that already do that...

nice work canon, you made a different looking f3 with no 1080p60 and $2k more...

Yeah. I mean, it's nice, I'm glad to see competition, and it is better in some ways than an F3 (onboard codec) but I'm really
not feeling this 'world changing' stuff. Looks like it's another F3 with some better features, some worse, and same price.
Cool camera.....I don't think it's groundbreaking.

Looks like its Red's turn...

well my af100 is staying here

im impressed that they have a canon log though.

NOW Panny can turn this around and give us an AF100 with hpx250 backend. winner. maybe adding a panny-log like feature would be awesome with the avcintra codec :D

"The C300 offers a choice between 23.98 frames per second and 24.00 frames per second, which is something new for Canon. Slow and fast motion recording options, selectable in 1fps increments up to 60fps (in 720p recording mode), are available as well. An intervalometer and a frame recording function are also included."

It's not just 30p

Still more from the DVinfo article:

Log gamma squeezed into .... 8 bit codec?!?! Are they kidding? No >30fps in 1080p? No wonder they had to add monitor to justify 16k price :) Have they heard about F3?

JUST an F3 competitor?? The F3 competes quite well with RED and everyone else on a big screen, esp. considering the price.
