Rumor: Canon 4k super35 camera

Cant beat the design though, think of the smooth movements with that thing on your pointer finger...
 
Now with the introduction of the Scorsese factor, I don't know what to think other than that Scorsese is going to endorse this new cam whatever it is. Still I can't believe Canon is going to cede the $5K tier to Sony and Panny since even their $2,500 5DII is being used on various Hollywood productions. It would be pretty momentous if Scorsese announced he was going to make his next film with a $6K digital cine camera with "Alexa good" IQ. That would be pretty much game over for Panny and Sony, and it would be historic. Plus they also have Ron Howard on board. Some people say I'm a dreamer, but I am not the only one. :-)

yeah, but it won´t happen. i´d be happy if they put the 1D chip into a videocam-housing.....

That would be great if Scorcese is endorsing Canon. But it could be PR firm Sunshine Sachs just hiring him to make an appearance. A quick check shows you can book him for this kind of thing.

CANON studios? Red has one why not Canon?

Canon did just open a technology and service center in Hollywood.

I don't think they would go FF 35mm in their video camera. It will probably be S35 based on whatever is in the 1DX. If you want that Vista Vision moment, Canon will point you toward the 1DX. But of course a FF 35mm sensor that is "Alexa good" in their cine camera would be historic and would give Scorsese something atypical for his next movie.

Well, that's frick'in depressing. He would really whore himself out like that? You'd think his appearance at an event like this one in particular and what it would imply would preclude only appearing for money. This would seem to be more connected to his artistic integrity.

Maybe appearing at some new Hollywood nightclub would have more to do with an appearance fee.

I know what you're saying. Just trying to keep expectations low. We'll find out in 20 minutes!
