I have seen this before in a similar shoot using an EX-1r, and now again with my F-3. The royal blue in the drapes in this theatre appear to have a magenta/purple cast. Anyone familiar with this phenomenon? In a similar shoot, my Panasonic HDX-900 did not show this coloration.
Its hard to tell without seeing the original materials but Its very possible you're getting some IR or more precisely "far red" contamination. The F3 still has some of this though not as badly as the EX-1 /3 by a long shot.
This will happen on dark materials usually blacks but I've seen it on dark blue as well. It adds some maroon or magenta. I think I see it in the suit as well and perhaps her pants. Get a Tiffen T1 filter and balance through that. EX-1r was supposed to correct this but perhaps like the F3 they didn't go all the way as the T1 does make color balancing a little dicier.
Everyone with those cameras should have a T1 on hand.
Thought all video cameras had an IR filter in the optical path as a matter of course. Are you saying/thinking that the issue is still present in the F-3 even though it's been a known issue in other XDCAM EX cameras? And why do you say that color balancing is more difficult with this "T1" filter applied?
