Roselyn- Short Film [Canon 550D/T2i]

This feels very long for what it is. I started skipping through after the first 30 seconds. I think there is a lot of really good shot selection, and I dig the music, but it's a very simple story that probably could have been related in about five minutes (definitely not ten).

Thanks for sharing!

Also, not really a bad thing, but one of the most common short movie cliche cliches is to start with an alarm clock waking up your main character.

Im watching as I write this, Actually I paused it. But anyways, im 4.00 minutes in, and this guy has washed his face three different times (is he ocd), got in and out of bed twice, and is now going back to bed. Im sorry, but this is extremely redundant, and boring. Im not trying to hurt you feelings but trying to help your composition. You have a great ability to set up a nice shot, but they need to go some where. Im a third of the way through this film, and still have no idea what it's about, I know nothing about this guy except he likes to wash his face. You need to use your shots to tell the story. Ok I will finish, and write the rest. Alright, Im finished, and still the only thing I took from it, is that a girl dropped her book, and he returned it after snooping through it. I feel the same as the above poster, this could have been told in two minutes or three tops.

The good- your ability to set up a shot. I thought the shots of when the girl dropped the book were nice and it shoed the viewer what was going on with out losing it. Now if the story followed in the same way, it would have been different. But overall it was rather boring. just the truth. BUTTTTTT. I always say, at least your out there creating art, many people sit on their butt and judge, but never do anything themselves. keep shooting, you will get it where you want it in no time.

Thanks for the reply guys. I feel pretty much exactly the same about the film. I learned alot from my mistakes and will use that as an advantage for the next project I start.
Thanks!

The wide-screen crop seems to chop off too much (like his head) several times. Recomposing some shots on what gets chopped off might help in a few places.
