Hey, all.

Just finished a rough edit on my first job with the T2i. This will be edited down, color corrected, and turned into a promo with music and VO.

Let me know what you think.

24p.

Here's the video description:

Raw footage from my first shoot with the T2i before any color correction. I used a tripod with my 70-200 IS, and I shot handheld with my 17-55 IS, using only an LCDVF for stabilization.

Looked awesome, man! I think I may be leaning towards getting an T2i instead of a 35mm adapter.

Looking forward to seeing it with some music.

I'd recommend a T2i because of the low light ability and handheld usability. You'll still be paying a bit for quality glass (zooms, anyway).

That's what I figured. The low light capabilities are in no question better than a 35mm adapter, but better than my plain DVX100a.

Of course, by the time I get enough money, there'll probably be a million new DSLR choices :)

Which only mean the T2i will drop in price. The T2i is an amazing camera, coming from a Dvx100 myself it is like night and day. The T2i will still be an amazing camera 2+ years from now, it is truly something that has been a blessing to the filming community.

Now for long events and concert shows you still might want a traditional video camera though, because these HDSLRs do have limitations unfortunately. That's the way life is :undecided

This looks outrageously good! Are you kidding? No cc? Gorgeous image.

Thanks, David!

Like you guys, I'm loving this camera. My previous camera was a DVX, which I still use quite a bit, but the difference is huge. Each camera has its place, however.

Well I'm gonna use the T2i as a substitute for an adapter. It's certainly not going to replace my DVX. It's just gonna be put to different uses.

I think for my own short films, my DVX will be my go to camera.

For music videos and things like that, a T2i might be a better idea. Especially since clients will prefer HD and the shallow DOF.

Hope I can get some money for it!

I'm referring to my T2i as the 550D whenever I list equipment for jobs...it's still a proper designation, and it sounds a bit more professional IMHO.

so I noticed that even with your faster pans the rolling shutter doesn't seem to make much of an impact. I was wondering, from your experience, do the IS lenses help keeping that to a minimum, or does that loupe really provide that much stability? or is it a combo of both?
