All I am definitely in the contest. I love Sci-Fi and can't wait to see everyone’s entries.

I wonder if there will be as many entries as Zombiefest. I doubt it just because Sci-fi is that much harder. I can't wait.
 
Good question, Tim. I originanlly thought this would TRUMP Zombie Fest with nearly twice as many films ... say upwards of a couple hundred. But now I'm also wondering if there will be as many. I think one of the main things that's cut a lot of the competition down was the timing of it taking place through the holidays ... ROUGH time getting schedules to mesh, etc.
 
I'm in. Actually, I've been shooting today and I'll be shooting tomorrow the second part. I'm a little afraid of the results as it's been so little time to do the tests. We'll, I hope my brand new Quad G5 :) will help me to finish this at time.

hello every body, i'm taking a break from studying my lines, scene study and what have you, man i am excited. things aren't going the way expected,but even better... can't say much more.
 
Some fool just opened the gas valve wide on one of my jobs which means I'll have no time to complete this entry. Unfortunately, I'm out of this one. I will finish it over the next month or so and post. Good luck to the rest of you:)
 
Survived our one day of shooting yesterday (a 16 hour day, mind you) and I'm very, very happy with the results. Can't wait to see the rough cut tonight.

I'll Too really thought there would be as many as the Zombie contest .
maybe everyone was Zombied out ?
I think the holidays played a big role as well but for me it has been the weather . All our shots are outside
Last night the temp fell from 50 F to 5F . Add the windchill to that and we packed it in .!!

Trying again BUT closer to home this time.
Schedules are a pain as I work everyother weekend and the guys work during the week with weekends off .

I do hope there is a good turn out for the Sci-Fi contest as I really hate seeing Dvx members not being able to make it .
It would be nice to see how everyone will present their ideas , whether it is a simple story ( twilight style ) or a short done with CGI .
The Zombie fest shorts were really good . I think the Sci Fi contest should be even better !!!

We had Day 5 of shooting last night, it went great, Day 6 should be this week and then I'll be done shooting this thing. Good luck arielman, BTW what kind of bike is that in yer avatar?
 
Hey ZombieSquid , first off many thanks for the DVD you sent . It has gotten around for viewing ..all my oldest sons friends think it was great !!!

The bike is a 1932 Ariel 600 cc , 4 cylinder O.H.C , layed out in a like the 4 dots on a dice . very rare here in Canada and in the U.S . It makes a Whopping 24 HP But is incredibly Smooth .
There is a lot of people that think I'm nuts for riding it and it should be a static display ..I disagree ..Ride em don't hide em .

Glad to hear you filming is going good , can't wait to see it .

They are calling for slightly warmer weather this week ,not enough too melt the snow I hope ..lol at least until after the shoot is done .

Threadkiller strikes again! I'm 3 for 0 now. I win!

Seriously though, we've got ONE MORE day of shooting and then I think I'll have it all. Honestly, I just want to get this thing done so that I can get back to work on my "big" project. These contests are like film crack, you do one and then you're hooked for life. I keep saying "just one more" and the next thing I know I'm locked up in a rehab center where I have to perform "favors" for one of the gaurds in exchange for 5 minutes alone with a Samsung VHS-C camcorder and two VCRs.....
 
Tony, the viewing/judging part of the contest has not started yet. We're in the production stage right now. I am sure Barry or Jarred will make known all the in's and out's of viewing and judging the films at the appropriate time.:thumbsup:
