Roll Call - Who's In (running list)

I am in. BTW, I've scanned all the relevant threads, but I cannot find any mention of where/when uploads will be accepted. Does anyone have information regarding this, or can you point me to the right thread?

Yeah, I thought that was supposed to be up on Dec. 1. Maybe some stuff isn't working quite right. Workin' out the glitches, etc.

The deadline is the end of January and we haven't posted the upload instructions yet. Concentrate on your film and keep your eyes open for the upload instructions sometime in January.

Yeah, what Barry said... we have to just make our films right now... think about uploading and all that jazz later.

I'm definitely in...I just hope I can finish on time. This will probably be my 1st "real" production outside of class :P. Time to get to work! woo hooo!

Think about it:

Six minutes, is a six-page script. That's about two hours of writing. (And several days of editing, but let's not think about that. :undecided ) This is also assuming that you can come up with a story that can be done in six minutes.

Six minutes is about three scenes or locations, which is about two days of shooting.

At a 4:1 shooting ration, you'll have 24 minutes of footage to edit -- easily done in a day.

Effects and ADR will take longer. But if someone else is doing effects they may be able to do this concurrently.

Pre-production is a couple days (based on experience shooting TV commercials and music videos). This assumes that you have a source of actors (like a local theatre, group of friends, etc.)

Plenty of time!

Well, I'm out :)
The Script and story boarding are done, but I just put out a call for actors and have been flooded with responses. there are just too many good ones to choose from. I really don't want to rush this film, so I will not be done for the end of January. I'm still doing the film, but it will more likely be a february or March premiere. but I'll let youall know when it's done. Sucks, I really could have used some of that cools stuff :)

Well THAT'S a new one for me. Never heard of someone backing out of a competition because they had TOO much good talent to choose from.

Scharky, part of the whole competition/deadline is to see what you CAN do in that amount of time. I'm sure everyone could do better if they took the extra time (months, year, whatever) to do their project ... the cool thing is to see what everyone can do under the same constraints.

Just do it.

Hey Scharky don't throw in the towel yet .. I enjoyed Awake ..waiting to see your Sci-Fi short .
There are many that haven't even started to film yet including myself , this of course puts a strain on the editing part . So with any luck ..weather permitting we will be starting Boxing day .

In the Zombie contest ...I beleive NBC didn't shoot his until the night before the deadline ...and I'm sure there many as well in the same position ...BUT there was a lot of EXCELLANT shorts that were shown and many I still watch ...
Envision said it all ...let's see what we can do in 6 min .
Ian
