Lately there has been a lot of interest in old manula lenses for video use.

I ahve picked up a couple old primes and love the manual cntrol I have with them.

Recently I picked up a NEW manual prime (Rokinon 85mm 1.4), and realy like how it's handling.

For anyone who 's interested, I just posted a low light test of the Rokinon 85mm 1.4 manual lens with my 550D. I did the test with the shutter speed at 60 and not 30, as I normally don't like to shoot video below 60 fps.

The only reason I am not the biggest fan of shooting at 30fps, is that it tends to be a little blurry for me. I guess it has to do with shooting fast moving subjects like dancing that I'm not the biggest fan of it. Keep in mind that was while shooting interlaced 60i HDV footage on my FX1s.

I guess I will have to try it on the T2i, since I shoot mainly at 1080P.
The only think I am finding is that with this 85mm manual lens is taking a picture at 1.4-1.8 focus is a *****. I can't tell if I'm in focus at all while looking through the viewfinder. If I use the LCD then I can, but I don't like to shoot pictures through the viewfinder, and I don't always like using a loupe on the camera.

I think that I'll pickup an eyecup for the viewfinder, which may make it a little easier to keep my eye focused.
Is there any trick to using one of these manual lenses and focusing through the viewfinder?
