Rode vs H4N

I need help deciding on Audio for the 7D.

Im debating on Rode videomic and the H4N

I like the Rode due to its small compact more of a run&gun style and plugs right into the 7D, but how is the Audio??

H4N looks bulky and complicated.

Get both.

The rode will give the camera stronger signal for syncing in post.

The H4N is neither bulky nor complicated.

Or they are doing it the Apple way, small differences, but important for a "pro" workflow, think firewire or expresscard ports...
