rode videomic setup HELP

hey all,

I just got a rode video mic and im having trouble getting it to work on my gh2. I got a stereo adaptor, and i plugged it in but it still records through the on board mic. Is there a menu setting that I'm missing?

Hi,
I did experince the same trouble untill I did modify my adapter which was slightly riding on the housing of the GH2, menas the adapter did not get full connected in the right position... after a simple modification removing some material from the adaptershoulder all works perfectly. Hope this will help you

I am very impressed by this microphone.... I bought in 2004 for a NV-GS400, and i still use it now with GH2

I too had the exact same problem with my 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapter. You have to get an xacto knife or a safety blade and remove a couple mm from the sides of the plastic around the 2.5mm male end. Panasonic made the 2.5mm socket incredibly tiny.
